Cat® Dealer Surprises Customer With Overhauled Truck Complete With C15 Engine
Imagine having put over a million miles on your Cat® truck engine, thinking your wife had sold the truck, then receiving the surprise of a lifetime finding out that the truck had been completely overhauled and detailed at a surprise unveiling!
In late 2019, Finning Canada’s Million Miler Tom Klassen was given a huge surprise when finding out his beloved truck “Ol' Blue” had been completely overhauled and detailed inside and out — all for free. Tom’s wife Ivy had contacted Finning Canada to ask if there’s anything they could do, and Finning took the opportunity to team with Caterpillar, Mullen Trucking, International Machinery, and TEPS dealer James Western Star to surprise this long-time customer.
Ivy wrote, “My husband is having a hard time letting Ol' Blue go. He did purchase a new truck, but it doesn’t have a C15. My husband has said there has never been a better engine ever built. The power was unbelievable – there was not a truck that could out-pull it. Is there any way possible that you would be able to help? If so, that would be fantastic, but if not, I’d just like to say there has never been a better engine ever built.”
HE DID PURCHASE A NEW TRUCK, BUT IT DOESN’T HAVE A C15. MY HUSBAND HAS SAID THERE HAS NEVER BEEN A BETTER ENGINE EVER BUILT. THE POWER WAS UNBELIEVABLE – THERE WAS NOT A TRUCK THAT COULD OUT-PULL IT.

Tom is looking forward to many more years (and miles) with Ol' Blue as he continues to use the truck for hauling logs.
After being told “Ol' Blue” wasn’t worth overhauling, Tom’s wife Ivy contacted Finning Canada to ask if there was anything they could do. Finning partnered with Caterpillar and many others to surprise Tom with a completely overhauled and detailed truck – all for free.

During the big reveal, Tom was led outside of the Finning Canada dealership where the truck was waiting, along with a crowd of onlookers.
Today, Ol' Blue is back at work, hauling logs.
