992 heading to Canada


After MINExpo, this 992 Wheel Loader will join the Heavy Metal Equipment (HME) fleet of rental machines working in the Canadian oil sands. There it will join HME’s new Cat® 777, 793 and 797 trucks and a new D11 Dozer, all serviced and supported by Cat dealer Finning Canada.

24 Motor Grader to work in oil sands

After MINExpo, this new 24 Motor Grader will go to work at Imperial Oil's Kearl operation in the Canadian oil sands, where it will be serviced and supported by Cat dealer Finning Canada.

 



Hosting the next generation of miners


Several groups of students had the opportunity to tour the Caterpillar exhibit, where they learned more about careers in mining — from engineering new machines to working as service technicians. They were also able to try their hand at some of the machine simulators on the show floor.

Cat dealer recognized for truck support

Ferreyros


MINExpo was an opportunity to recognize Cat dealer Ferreyros for their support as fleets of Cat 798 AC trucks are being introduced in Peru. So far, 10 trucks have been delivered for promotion and trials at mines in Peru, and 10 more are planned for 2022. Denise Johnson, Group President, Caterpillar Resource Industries, presented a plaque to Ferreyros representatives in attendance at the show.

 



Zero-emissions autonomous truck development announced


The Caterpillar on-floor press conference included the announcement that Rio Tinto and Caterpillar have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for Caterpillar's development of zero-emissions autonomous haul trucks for use at one of Rio Tinto's Western Australian mining operations. A main focus of the press conference was the Caterpillar commitment to working with customers to find the right sustainability solutions for each individual site.

Pre-MINExpo Sustainability Symposium

With sustainability and Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance (ESG) emerging as one of the top focus areas for our customers in 2021, we hosted a Sustainability Symposium before MINExpo to give our customers an opportunity to hear from our leadership on this important topic. Caterpillar leaders discussed the ways we support our customers’ sustainability goals today and shared a high-level overview of the many in-development initiatives that will allow us to meet their needs in the future.
