With an operating life of 120,000 hours, they are a viable option for mines with estimated lives that meet or exceed a time frame of 20 years.

Our LatchFree™ Dipper System addresses the leading cause of rope shovel downtime, replacing the maintenance-intense latch assembly with a strong steel link assembly. The system’s unique arrangement makes it possible to locate the components on the dipper back. In addition, the components are designed and tested for a service interval of 3,000 hours. With the elimination of the maintenance associated with the latch assembly and an extended service interval, your rope shovel will spend more time loading, ultimately reducing your total cost of ownership.
The Operator Assist Technology Package includes enhancements that provide operator assist and machine self-protection without sacrificing productivity. Enhanced Motion Control protects the machine from operational practices that cause damage by intelligently controlling how motions are allowed to operate under certain conditions. And Machine Self Protection, a control system that detects and avoids machine self-collisions and, if a collision is imminent, arrests the machine motion to prevent or mitigate the collision.
Engineered for the future, the Cat® Integrated Technology Package fully incorporates Cat Electronics and provides the platform to support technology expansion. The package features six standard technologies, including Machine Health, Vibration Monitoring, Cat Electronics, Payload Management, Bearing Temperature Monitor and Cycle Segmentation. The enhancements support higher productivity, improved reliability and increased security. The technology upgrade also provides a gateway for seamless integration of Cat MineStar™ Solutions.

- Operators sit in a state-of-the-art, ergonomic seat, with a seat, armrest and footrest that adjust to perfectly fit wide range of body sizes.
- Effortless operation and improved control response are made possible by the new joysticks with custom-designed ergonomic handles and “finger touch control” spring tension.
- Intuitive and visually aesthetic display screens adjust for brightness and contrast to meet operator preferences.
- The panoramic view from the operator's seat provides the best far-side visibility in the industry, plus cameras that feed five in-cab, overhead monitors augment line of sight and elevate situational awareness.
- Access and egress are enhanced by the 45-degree rear-facing boarding stair; non-slip stairs, platforms and walkways; and dual-door design that facilitates cab entry and exit and enables a quick escape.
- Fatigue-causing vibration is reduced thanks to bolstered support and stability of the extended machinery house underneath the isolator mounted cab.
