1,000th Cat® 24 Motor Grader Arrives in Australia

Caterpillar leadership and production team members celebrated the production and sale of the 1,000th 24 motor grader

By Caterpillar | Updated May 24, 2023

Last fall, Caterpillar leaders and production workers gathered at the Cat® facility in Decatur, Ill., USA, to celebrate as the 1,000th 24 Motor Grader rolled off the production line. And now, almost six months later, that motor grader has arrived at its destination in Australia and been delivered to mining company Rio Tinto.

The largest in the Cat grader fleet, the 24 was launched in 1995 to build and maintain haul roads for the largest mining vehicles in the world. The 1,000th machine will soon go to work at a Rio Tinto iron ore mine in Australia’s Pilbara region, where it will be supported by Cat dealer WesTrac.

Caterpillar Motor Grader Market Manager Florian Dumalle called the Decatur celebration a momentous occasion for the production team. A Decatur news station covered the event and captured a video of the celebration.
