Cat Simulators provide hands-on learning in a safe and economical way to enhance traditional operator training programs. Cat simulators for large mining trucks, large wheel loaders, large dozers and underground LHDs were available for MINExpo attendees to try.

THOROUGHTEC SIMULATION

Caterpillar partners with ThoroughTec Simulation to offer a comprehensive portfolio of ultra-hi-fidelity operator training simulators for Cat surface and underground mining equipment. At MINExpo, the company displayed its CYBERMINE simulator cab for Cat 7495 Electric Rope Shovels. These simulators are highly realistic replicas of the actual mining equipment, where instruments and controls look, feel and operate as they do in the actual mining vehicle.

Thoroughtec

CAT VISION SYSTEMS + PERSONNEL DETECTION 

This aftermarket system, displayed at MINExpo for the first time, uses a smart camera to track personnel around a machine. The motion detection algorithm distinguishes when a person is detected and gives the operator visual cues and audio alerts based on the person’s proximity to the machine.
