Caterpillar Brings More Horsepower and Introduces Additional Customer Service Offerings at the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show (FLIBS)

Caterpillar Marine Highlights C32B Product Line and Services at FLIBS

Fort Lauderdale, Florida –Caterpillar Marine is proud to be a 2021 exhibitor at the world’s largest in-water boat show, Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS), from October 27 -31. Visitors are encouraged to stop by the Caterpillar exhibit, booth #1213, to view the featured marine products and yachting specific services that express the company’s customer focus within the yachting segment. With the enhanced Cat® Concierge Service, a focused repower program and state-of-the-art solutions beyond propulsion systems, Caterpillar launches a strong comprehensive offering for both owners and boatyards, built around the new Cat C32B engine platform.

“With launching the latest version of our new C32B engine platform, which now ranges from 2025- 2433 mhp, Caterpillar Marine underlines the commitment to the pleasure craft and yachting industry. Being our strongest V12 package available for this application, it delivers an outstanding customer experience for both newbuild and repower solutions through high power density accompanied by less weight, space claim, and noise”, says Alex Berg, Caterpillar’s Global Head of Pleasure Craft & Yachting.

After garnering a lot of attention earlier this year, Caterpillar Marine is pleased to announce that the C32B 2433 mhp engine will be available by the end of year 2021. The new model has another 20% increase in power output, features an updated cooling system, and a new sequential air system that delivers faster response and better performance compared to the earlier presented 2025 mhp version. With the C32B’s fuel system updates, customers will also benefit from the engine’s noise reduction.

The newly launched Caterpillar repower program also positions the C32B as a favorable option for customers interested in repowers to provide more power, performance, and life to existing vessels. Designed to seamlessly fit into vessels that use previous Caterpillar engine models, as well as competitive engines where owners are looking for more power (replace V12) or less weight and space (replace V16), the C32B platform provides efficient process solutions for shipyards as well as an outstanding end-user experience.

Alex Berg notes that the C32B represents a strong basis to expand the offering beyond propulsion engines and form a comprehensive program of solutions. “Both end-users and boatbuilders have always chosen Caterpillar for the durability and reliability of our systems and the recognized global service capabilities. This engine is being launched in combination with an efficient repower program to support the aftermarket and with strong upgrades to our existing ‘Concierge’ program which utilizes greater connectivity and integration to enable user-centric, proactive support.”

In addition to high performing engines, visitors can speak with Caterpillar Marine representatives and dealers about new solutions and services. This year, Caterpillar Marine will unveil the next generation of Cat Concierge which will offer customers premier services. Cat Concierge Service is available for new and existing customers with Cat powered vessels providing access to a team of experts available 24/7 and only a phone call away to assist with technical and service-related needs.

Product experts will be at the booth throughout the show to discuss the new services, solutions, and the engines on display. Additionally, several boats featured at the show are powered by Cat engines. Visitors can tour the engine room of these vessels and experience our products in operation.
