FOUR EASY STEPS TO PROTECT YOUR CAT ENGINE OR GENERATOR
It’s simple to add Extended Service Coverage. Just follow these four steps.
1. Choose the best coverage for your situation
New ESC: The original factory warranty is still in place.
Advantage (Used) ESC: The warranty has expired, but you haven’t completed your first overhaul.
Overhaul ESC: You’ve completed an overhaul with an authorized Cat dealer.**
2. Calculate your coverage needs
When was your engine or generator set delivered or overhauled? Use that date to determine age and operating hours. Then, calculate expected annual hours for the future.
3. Select your coverage level
We offer different protection for different budgets and operational needs. For New and Advantage ESC, you can choose:
Silver: covers major components
Gold: Silver coverage plus the turbocharger and injector
Platinum: Gold coverage plus the as-shipped consist generator set from the factory
Ask your authorized Cat dealer about Overhaul ESC coverage levels.
4. Purchase, finance and register your coverage
Any authorized Cat dealer can finalize your Extended Service Coverage. You can pay for engine or generator protection outright, or you can finance it with your loan or lease. That makes for one convenient monthly payment. Another option is paying with the Cat Card, a revolving line of credit just for Caterpillar customers. THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A WARRANTY, AN EXTENDED WARRANTY AND ESC
New Cat power systems come with a Caterpillar Limited Warranty.**** It covers parts and labor costs for 12 or 24 months or a specific number of operating hours. An extended warranty starts once the original factory warranty ends. At Caterpillar, we call it Extended Service Coverage instead. But the concept is the same.
