Here are just some of the articulated truck safety tips covered in the video: 

  • Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required while on the jobsite and operating your articulated truck. [00:25]

  • Be mindful of all pinch points. 

  • Keep your boots clean to avoid slipping. 

  • Keep your truck’s mirrors and rearview camera clean. 

  • Maintain three points of contact while entering and exiting your cab. Always use proper feet pads, steps and handrails. [00:45]

  • Always wear your seat belt while operating. 

  • Your articulated truck’s cab has an alternate exit in case of emergency. Check your Operation and Maintenance Manual (OMM) for location and procedure. [01:19]

  • Don’t let debris build up. Minimize risk of machine malfunction and fire by keeping the area under your hood clean. 

  • Learn about your Ground-Level Service Center, which contains your fuel shutoff, master disconnect and access lights. [02:15]
