USING CAT® PAYLOAD FOR WHEEL LOADERS TO HIT LOAD TARGETS

Getting started using Payload for wheel loaders is simple with the payload scales in the standard machine display. The scales allow you to easily monitor and track performance, plus they keep you from overloading or underloading trucks.

Load trucks to your exact specifications and track productivity from the cab. Use the payload settings menu to access your set weight range, tip-off feature, payload display mode, weight units and list management, all at the touch of your fingertips. In-cab weighing boosts consistent, efficient performance.

Using payload for wheel loaders to hit accurate truck loading can be achieved with settings in the general default setting mode — with tip-off disabled. The on-the-go weighing allows you to check the load weight while at the stockpile, ensuring maximum accuracy at all times. The monitor continuously displays the bucket, truck and target weight, pass count and progress. Pick up too much material? Adjust the load with the user-friendly “oops” feature.

The difference between tip-off to stockpile and tip-off to truck doesn’t have to be complicated. Caterpillar has streamlined the process via a simple toggle button on the display. The toggle allows you to easily switch between the two modes.

Make quick work of specified targets with auto tip-off to stockpile, which can handle target loads up to 10 tons. With precision accuracy through the weigh range, you can use the auto tip-off feature to adjust load size, while retaining material information even when your machine is in reverse. After the final bucket is delivered to the truck and the store button is pressed, the system resets to zero.

Miss your bucket load on a pass? The system is designed to help you make adjustments and still efficiently load the truck. Thanks to the “oops” button located on the display, you can adjust your bucket load and subtract your pass before locking the weight in, ensuring you deliver the correct load to the truck.

Load trucks quickly with the tip-off to truck mode. The display allows you to lock in your target load and calculates the cumulative truck weight as you tip off from the bucket.

Using Payload for wheel loaders to boost productivity only helps your bottom line if you use the data to measure your productivity and efficiency. Data management is about far more than just overloaded and underloaded trucks. Knowing what you can measure — and how to use that information — lowers costs and generates revenue.

Access the totals menu from the main display to view cycle counts, truck load counts, total payload, total fuel, idle fuel, idle time, odometer and operating hours; all items that impact costs in terms of tons per hour and tons per gallon. Set trip meters to measure your productivity rates.
