Reduce Machine Bounce with Stable Blade

In difficult terrain, it’s nice to have a feature that looks out for the overall health of your motor grader. That’s why stable blade is such a valuable tool. Stable blade is an optional feature that senses machine bounce and automatically reduces your engine speed. Let’s learn more about it.

By slowing down your grader in uneven terrain, stable blade protects your blade from unnecessary wear and prevents damage to the grading surface. That way, you don’t have to go back and do another pass because of machine bounce.

Plus, machine bounce is just as uncomfortable for the operator. You don't have to suffer through that with the optional stable blade feature. And you can adjust just how sensitive it is. Even experienced operators who have grown accustomed to handling machine bounce on their own will find they appreciate this feature, particularly when working in difficult terrain.

STABLE BLADE USE [00:56]

  1. You must be operating in gears 1-5.

  2. Your electronic throttle lock must be engaged.

  3. Minimum engine speed is 1,100 revolutions per minute (RPM).

  4. Default sensitivity setting is 50%.

  5. Higher sensitivity means faster response to bounce.

HOW DO YOU GET IT TO WORK? [00:34]

  1. Press the button to access settings.

  2. Increase sensitivity with the right button or decrease with the left button.

  3. Upon detecting excess bounce, stable blade reduces RPM until your motor grader steadies.

  4. Once stable, it returns your machine to original speed.
