Demonstration & Learning Centers
The Caterpillar Demonstration & Learning Centers are designed to demonstrate the value of Cat® products and services through the operation and application of our equipment.
Since 1926 Caterpillar has recognized the value of demonstrating products to its customers. The demonstration centers represent the logical outcome of that decades-long focus: Caterpillar has the most evolved training and demonstration centers available. Comprehensive staff support and customer-focused education ensure that time at our centers is well spent.
To succeed in an intensely competitive world, our customers need the right equipment, the right technology and the right training. The demonstration and learning centers help customers become more competitive. Visitors gain application and product knowledge in high-tech classrooms and in the field, benefiting from instructors with years of training and expertise on the latest Cat equipment.
There are currently three Demonstration & Learning Centers located worldwide. At the core of these centers are our highly skilled demonstrator instructors with a minimum 10 years of equipment operator experience in heavy construction, general construction, quarry/aggregates and/or mining industries. Using their knowledge and/or skill, instructors provide a variety of services through the Demonstration & Learning Centers including:
Demonstration of Product
Operation of heavy construction and/or mining equipment to demonstrate features and capabilities, communicate operating techniques, display effective application and safe practices. Demonstrations can be conducted at Training Centers, virtually or at off-site locations worldwide.
Product and Application Training
Instructors provide hands-on and classroom training related to machine operation, application, job efficiency, and safety. Training sessions can take place, either at the Training Centers or on the customer's jobsite.

Welcome to the Caterpillar Edwards Demonstration & Learning Center. Located in Central Illinois near Peoria, our expert instructors and application specialists are here to help you with training built to meet your business goals. Imagine a facility where you can operate equipment in a variety of application settings, then step into a high-tech classroom or meeting room for additional learning. You'll see, learn about, operate, and service the latest Cat® equipment in an environment unlike any other.
With the expert staff and instructors at Edwards, it is our mission to demonstrate machine, engine and service advances in the applications that relate to customers. It is equally important to provide comprehensive training in all areas of safe operation and servicing of our products.
Nestled in 720 acres of unspoiled Illinois prairie, every square foot of this Caterpillar resource reflects truly advanced technology. The location serves not only as a beautiful backdrop, but as a reminder of the importance of being good citizens of our environment. In short, it's a place where people and products unite in order to better utilize, improve, and preserve our resources.
The Edwards facility is not open to the public and scheduled reservations must be made prior to arrival. Normal hours of operation are 7am to 5pm, Monday through Friday. The facility is available for evening receptions upon request.
Malaga Demonstration & Learning Center
Costa del Sol, Spain
The Caterpillar Malaga Demonstration & Learning Center is located on over 260 acres in the Costa del Sol in southern Spain, where the mild climate allows year-round operation. This outstanding facility provides numerous conference rooms with state-of-the-art audio/visual equipment, a 220-seat auditorium and real field settings for product demonstrations and machine operation. Also located at the Malaga facility is the S•O•S SM Services/Fluid Analysis Laboratory, which provides preventive maintenance services to customers and dealers throughout Europe, Africa, Middle Eastern and CIS territories.
Staffed with specialized training instructors and operators, as well as experienced support staff, the Center is an unmatched location for running seminars, product demonstrations and other learning activities in a relaxed atmosphere.
Typical activities include:
- Showcasing and demonstrating Cat® products and their applications to customers to help them in the work they do.
- Technical training to dealer service personnel to enable them to deliver outstanding product support to customers owning Cat machines and engines.
- Sales training to help dealers improve their sales effectiveness and provide optimum solutions to customers.
- Training in “best practices” related to equipment maintenance management, machine operation as well as providing application consulting to dealers and customers both at Malaga and off-site.
Tinaja Hills Demonstration & Learning Center
Green Valley, Arizona
Tinaja Hills Demonstration & Learning Center sits on 6,500 acres nestled in the Tinaja Peaks mountain range in Green Valley, Arizona. Established in 1990, the facility is dedicated to providing world-class customer experience with training on Cat products, covering heavy equipment safety, product application, operator and supervisor training, and the maintenance and repair to our heavy equipment. In addition to training, Tinaja Hills offer product and industry demonstrations, short tours showcasing our facility, as well as hosting receptions and dinners for large programs that typically end with our Desert Night Lights Demo.
Our state-of-the-art facility is equipped with several conference rooms, a dining hall, and multiple demonstration and training areas. The training areas duplicate various types of material and terrain to replicate a realistic jobsite situation. Tinaja Hills Demonstrator Instructors are highly trained in all product groups to deliver educational classes on general and heavy construction, as well as large quarry and mining products. With 5,720 average visitors annually, they continue to exceed the expectations of customers, dealers, and internal business partners.
